Lifetime Member Recipients

OIMP presents the prestigious Lifetime Membership Award to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the Association and Ontario’s meat and poultry industry.

2011 -  Tony Facciolo

Tony Facciolo, owner of Holly Park Meat Packers, was presented with a lifetime Membership for his long time commitment to the Ontario Independent Meat Processors and the industry. He has represented the OIMP at many events and served on numerous committees including the Ontario Beef Value Round Table and Canadian Veal Association. His commitment to the industry has been invaluable. Tony first joined the OIMP Board of Directors in 1986 serving a three year term. He rejoined the Board in 1998 where he has spent the past 13 years, serving as President for the past four.

2005 - Pat Johnson

Pat Johnson was presented with a Lifetime Membership for her vision and support to the development of Ontario’s Food Safety Strategy. Pat is a strong supporter and advocate for the OIMP and our industry. She was responsible for the development of the meat inspection Standards of Compliance, coauthored the OIMP Food Handler Training Course, and coordinated the development of HACCP Advantage.

2003 - Gerry Houtzager

 

Gerry Houtzager, President of Stayner Meat Packers, was awarded an OIMP Lifetime Membership for his outstanding contributions to the meat industry. Gerry joined the OIMP in 1987 and was elected to the Board of Directors in 1989, serving as President from 1995-1997 and again in 2000. Gerry represented the industry on the Beef Financial Protection Board for many years. He was one of the first to complete the OIMP Meat Industry Certificate program in 1994.

 

2001 - Leo Rocheleau

Leo Rocheleau, Plant Manager of Weston Abattoir, was inducted as a Lifetime Member for his many years of dedication to the OIMP and commitment to the industry. Weston Abattoir joined the OIMP in 1991, then in 1996 Leo was elected to the Board of Director; Leo also served as OIMP president from 1997 to 2000.

Jim Vidoczy

2000 - Jim Vidoczy

Jim Vidoczy, Manager of Consumer Marketing at Ontario Pork, was presented with a Lifetime Membership for his many years of continued support of the OIMP and the industry.

1997 - Nancy Ackert

Nancy Ackert was presented with a Lifetime Membership for her outstanding contributions to the OIMP and the industry. Nancy was involved with the OIMP from the beginning, joining in 1979 and served 17 years on the Board, holding numerous Executive positions, including a 3 year term as President and represented the OIMP on many industry committees.

1996 - Dr. Ron Usborne

Ron Usborne was presented with a Honourary Lifetime Membership for being a great supporter of the OIMP and the industry. Ron was instrumental in establishing the OIMP Cured Meat Competition and was involved in many of the associations hands-on workshops.

1995 - Ron Deeth

Ron Deeth was the first recipient of the honourary Lifetime Membership for his fifteen years of time and effort devoted to the meat and poultry industry. He was a founding President of OIMP and held the position of Executive Director for 7 years. Ron has been a proud supporter of the Association and the industry.
