About OIMP

The Ontario Independent Meat Processors (OIMP) is a non-profit organization formed in 1980 to represent Ontario’s meat and poultry processors, retailers and wholesalers. As a single and unified voice for meat and poultry processors in Ontario, the OIMP provides industry leadership on matters that directly affect our members.

Our objective is to ensure the continued growth of the meat industry through communications, education, training, promotion, and government support. We work closely with the agricultural and commodity organizations and have representation at various levels of government.

OIMP is a recognized voice of authority that focuses on opportunities to improve the meat industry and its reputation. Our Board of Directors, which consists of individuals, who own or operate a meat processing facility, is elected by the membership at the Annual General Meeting. The OIMP administration is available to address the needs of the members.

OIMP is a founding member of the Alliance of Ontario Food Processors (AOFP), an organization committed to building improved opportunities for growth and sustainability for Ontario’s food and beverage processing sector, thereby providing a stronger voice for OIMP members.
